Mr. Apostolos Karabinis, President and CEO of Karabinis Medical S.A., participated in the 2025 World Economic Forum in Davos as a keynote speaker on the panel titled “Pioneering Health Solutions: Leadership Driving Innovation and Care,” held on Wednesday, January 22, at 12:00. Alongside him were distinguished leaders in healthcare, including Dr. Lisa Corsa, Founder & Chairman of Premier Therapy Solutions, and Tim Johnson, CEO of Health In Tech. The discussion was moderated by journalist Dustin Plantholt. Mr. Karabinis presented his pioneering vision for health and innovation. Having led a distinguished career in diagnostic devices and healthcare services in Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans, he emphasized the need for a harmonious coexistence between business development and the enhancement of quality of life.
“Prevention and Lifestyle Change: The Key to the Future of Health” In an era where prevention and lifestyle changes are more crucial than ever, Mr. Karabinis highlighted the importance of harmonizing practices for addressing cardiovascular risk and creating a partnership between insurers, healthcare service companies, and healthcare professionals to form an alliance for the benefit of people. “It is good to find the cause of the problem and prevent complications, but it is equally critical to prevent and avoid it,” he stated. At the heart of the discussion was the initiative of Karabinis Medical S.A., Hypertension and Diabetes Corner (HD Corner), an innovative healthcare service initially piloted in Greece that applies a Team-Based Approach to Health Management, as recommended by international scientific guidelines. The HD Corner service applies scientific protocols and leverages advanced technologies through applications supported by artificial intelligence and diagnostic devices. It also collaborates with all the diagnostic equipment from industry companies, aiming for personalized management of patients with hypertension and diabetes. By incorporating trained pharmacists as clinical educators, patients receive continuous support for treatment adherence and adopting a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on diet and exercise. Additionally, with the patient’s consent, the doctor gains access to valuable health and lifestyle information, resulting in more targeted and effective treatment. “Simplicity is the Key” Karabinis Medical S.A. invests in simplicity and user-friendliness. Patients with access to the HD Corner application can collect health data, which is then utilized by doctors for comprehensive treatment management. “People don’t need to think too much or spend enormous time – everything should be as easy and simple as possible to ensure a shift to a healthier lifestyle, leading to a happy and active life,” explained Mr. Karabinis. “Looking to the Future” Karabinis Medical S.A. continues to innovate by strengthening research and development (R&D) in preventive healthcare. Its goal is to offer comprehensive solutions that not only improve quality of life but also inspire people to make positive changes. “Comprehensive healthcare leads to a comprehensive happy life, which is the only thing that truly matters,” he concluded. Through his participation in Davos Lodge 2025, Mr. Apostolos Karabinis showcased the commitment of Karabinis Medical S.A. to creating a future where health, innovation, and human happiness go hand in hand.
