Supporting pharmacists and the community, with a focus on prevention and responsible care.
KARABINIS MEDICAL, a Karabinis Group company, participated in the 13th SY.F.A.K. Conference, held on 12–13 September 2026 at the Atlantis Hotel in Heraklion, Crete, as well as in the parallel two-day Health and Prevention Event in Eleftherias Square. Its participation in both events reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare professionals and promoting prevention within the community.
Under the theme “Pharmacy: Health, Beauty & Wellness Services in the AI Era”, the conference brought together 617 pharmacists and pharmacy assistants, providing a forum for knowledge sharing and professional dialogue. The event was organised by the Aegean and Crete Pharmacists’ Cooperative (SY.F.A.K.) and the Hellenic Pharmaceutical Society, under the auspices of the Panhellenic Pharmaceutical Association.
For KARABINIS MEDICAL, the conference offered an opportunity to strengthen its ties with the pharmacy community at a time when the role of pharmacies continues to expand and people’s needs for reliable information and guidance are evolving.
Through eight roundtable discussions and five scientific and professional presentations, the conference highlighted the importance of pharmacies as accessible points of care and trusted sources of information. Key topics included support for people living with chronic conditions, responsible self-care, access to treatments and collaboration among healthcare professionals.
Particular attention was given to scientific evidence and responsible guidance in the selection of food supplements. Meanwhile, the growing use of digital tools and artificial intelligence brought into focus the need to assess the reliability of information and strengthen trust between pharmacists and the public. A central message emerged from the conference programme: innovation requires scientific knowledge and human guidance to translate into better everyday care.
The connection between knowledge and community engagement was reflected in the two-day Health and Prevention Event in Eleftherias Square, in which KARABINIS MEDICAL also participated. Through free preventive health checks and awareness activities, the event made prevention more accessible and gave people the opportunity to learn about important health issues. Collaboration among local and regional bodies, healthcare professionals and patient associations demonstrated the value of collective action in building a better-informed community.
Through its participation in the conference and the parallel activities, KARABINIS MEDICAL reaffirmed the importance it places on connecting scientific knowledge with people’s everyday needs.
