Presentation of the “case study” development of Karabinis Medical at the 2nd Family Business Summit 2022

With reference to the evolution of traditional family productive businesses into multidimensional companies, that can develop seamlessly in today’s competitive global environment, just as happened in the 55-years of Karabinis Medical SA evolution and development course, the President and CEO, Mr. Apostolos Karabinis, stated from the stage of the 2nd Family Business Summit 2022 (December 14, 2022, Athens).

Karabinis Medical started in 1967 as a small industry of medical gauze production, that in 1985 turned into an industry and in 1998 moved its production from Europe to Asia, simultaneously obtaining ISO 9002 certification and MDD certification for its medical consumables. With the establishment of a new business base in China, production quickly expanded to the widest range of medical consumables, making Karabinis Medical a leader in the medical consumable’s health field, not only in Greece, but also in its exporting countries. It’s worth noting that the company’s sales network includes hospitals, drugstores, pharmacists’ cooperatives and more than 4,000 pharmacies in Greece.

Having the almost total reinvestment of profits as its central axis, Karabinis Medical further strengthened its activity with partnerships of exclusive representation with international companies, in the field of both diagnostic devices and nutritional supplements, as through a specialized research and development department develops and produces own brand diagnostic products, nutritional supplements and specialized health services, under protected copyrights and worldwide patents.

Apart from its business activity, Karabinis Medical develops a powerful social action. Through the Corporate Social Responsibility program “Life Ally”, it actively supports people and social groups with actions promoting health, sports, environment, culture and our society. Alongside, the company returns added value to the environment through the program “Caring for the Environment is in our DNA” a pioneering program under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism.

The company’s goal for the next five years is to maintain its annual growth rate of +10% and exceed 20 million euros in organic turnover, always staying faithful to its vision of providing innovative health products and services, focusing on people and with clear mission the contribution to the life quality improvement.
